I really enjoy the funny commercials on T.V. One of my favorites is a man is sitting at a table, at what looks like a school. He is talking to a group of small children and he asks them if faster is better. After a fun dialog they decide… Yes, faster is better!

A small lizard tells me 15 minutes can save me 15% or more on car insurance. Only to be topped with a new commercial stating 7 ½ minutes can save me even more money on car insurance.

In today’s world, we are sometimes in too much of a hurry. We at A Better Way Roofing believe that, when it comes toroofing, faster is not always better. We are not speed roofers; speed is not our first goal. Our priority is a quality roof. Sure, we could roof your home in 4 hours with 10 men cramped up on the roof. At the end of the 4 hour period, it's likely you will hear:
“Did you put the metal on?”
“ I thought you put the metal on.”
“Well who did?”
“Why is there so much metal left over in the truck?”

There are many short cuts that can be taken to speed up the job.

Is that what you want?

Your roof is going to protect your entire home for a very long time. It is a big investment and a very important part of your home. Why not pace yourself and take a day or 2 to do the job right?

Go ahead and tear off to bare deck. Check the sheeting make sure the wood is solid and in good shape. This is the foundation for a new roof; take the time to check it.

Always install all new felt paper, don’t reuse the old.

Use all new metal flashing in complimentary colors. The metal is old it needs replaced, not reused.

Install all roofing with nails. Yes staples are faster and cheaper but they don’t hold well.

Take the time to cover things around the home.

Use quality products you can trust. We install GAF and Owens Corning products. We are GAF Certified Weather Stopper Roofing and Owens Corning Preferred Providers. So we work with shingle manufacturers to provide extended warranties directly from the company.

I might be old fashioned, but I believe faster is not always better. Some things just take a little more time. After all Rome was not built in a day.
